AMYGDALA

Using a method called sentiment analysis, this work interprets the collective emotional state of the Internet and presents it through LED columns and the video wall of CUBO, a media center in Bologna. The title comes from the amygdala, a structure in the brain related to emotions. By analyzing 30 tweets per second, AMYGDALA reads the “now” and attempts to stimulate reflection on the opportunities and dangers of the digital revolution in the era of “Big Data.”
