dist.solo deals with intimacy felt at the moment of eye contact, and also the complex nature of relationships. A swinging monitor reveals a girl’s face partially, almost like a wiper on a car window. Her eyes can only be seen momentarily due to the kinetic movement, but emotional connection is felt when the eyes meet. In the title, “dist.” is an abbreviation of distance which refers to both physical and emotional distance in this work.
