Emergence of Vibro-language

‶Emergence of Vibro-language” Production Team (WATANABE Junji, Representative) [Japan]

Outline

Users of Furue, the vibration telephone, each wrap a belt around their waist that contains vibrating speakers in the front and back. They then send each other sensations that pass through the abdominal area. Each sensation is labeled with an onomatopoetic word like Zukyuun! or Gusa! This “vibro-language” for transmitting messages via tactile sensations offers a means of interaction that is at once primitive and new.
