Maji

The sea, mountains lined with trees, inside the human body, wells in the desert, cities with overflowing garbage, and water streams carrying boats full of people who appear to be refugees. Various forms of water is explored in the work to uncover the importance of water and present issues related to it. The animation is shot using only sand, with a still camera and a light table. The title means “water” in Swahili.
