Outline
Orpheline (from the series Les Filles du Roi) chronicles the ten year migration program (1663-1673) in which 737 French women were sent to Canada as brides of the state. Using the visual language of heraldry, photographic coats of arms were constructed using cardboard cutouts and digital manipulation.
