The SINE WAVE ORCHESTRA stay, The SINE WAVE ORCHESTRA in the depths and A Wave

Media installation

The SINE WAVE ORCHESTRA [Japan]

Outline

This work is a series of installations using sine waves, the most fundamental element of sound. In stay, the visitors each set a sine wave to create an acoustic space, while four round speakers create sine waves to express imbalances in the space in in the depth. A Wave uses massive amounts of data from the Internet to recreate a single sine wave. Through the unique relationships three different kinds of sine waves and the visitors, the work questions the meaning of inclusiveness in an artwork.
