Ville Neuve

Inspired by Raymond CARVER’s short story Chef’s House, this film unfolds a story of a man and woman against the backdrop of Canada’s Quebec sovereignty movement in 1995. The film portrays the struggle and regeneration of the two characters: a man dragging the past and a woman trying to look to the future. A contemporary allegory implying the recent world situation is depicted in ink with simple yet complex shadows.
