Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop

Set in a provincial city in the summer, this is the story of Cherry, a boy who cannot express himself except in haiku poems, and Smile, a girl lacking confidence about her dental braces. The two meet at a shopping mall and begin to exchange messages using social media. The film vividly depicts the exuberance of adolescent communication, incorporating elements of 80s city pop and new prints from the early Showa in its art and direction.
