Outline

This is a video work like a film, set during the 1948 war between Egypt and Israel, which occurred in the aftermath of World War II. In the work, the artist himself is seen dressed as a soldier and playing “one, two, three, herring,” a version of the children’s game “statues,” with life-sized cardboard cutouts of himself. It is a comical portrayal of a children’s game on an authentic reproduction of a battlefield.
