311 Memories

This web-based work used natural-language processing to analyze some 270,000 news articles that followed the Great East Japan Earthquake and re-edit the flow of post-3.11 time into a “quietly moving timeline.” The passive viewing/listening mode, which leaves operations up to the system, revives memories from that time period through chance encounters with keywords selected from the sutra-like flow of characters.
