BERLIN UWA NO SORA

In this essay manga series, a Berlin-based artist depicts the cultures and temperaments of locals he witnesses in his “preoccupied” life. Through the eyes of an outsider, the artist depicts the lineup of goods in the supermarket, rent, transportation, café menus, and other such details from the everyday. Such details pose questions about what society ought to look like and what counts as a fulfilling life. Two-color printed pages add to the charm.
