Beside Joe

This media installation tells the story of moles drawn into frames of the manga Tomorrow’s Joe whose story is unrelated to the moles’ story. The exhibition wall serves as a screen for the repeated projection of “another world” reflected in the real one: images of animated moles sneaking into copies of “Shonen Magazine” (which serialized Tomorrow’s Joe) that are on display as part of the exhibition. This new form of expression marries the latest technology with a beloved manga classic to create a merging of different worldviews and different media.
