Outline

In a cinema projector, a film is transported through the mechanism and each single image is projected one at a time. In this installation, one loop of 35-millimeter film travels up and down over more than 150 guiding-wheels, to form a giant wall of film. The film consists of only black or transparent frames. In a cinema projector, the film is transported through a mechanism and each single image is projected one at a time. This installation combines three visual media–film, video and digital–to create an image through the literal “transport” of the film alone. An image akin to television static.
