Fleeting

The theme of Fleeting is the ephemerality of writing and reading poetry. With an inkjet cartridge a single line of text is written on the surface of wet white latex paint on a rotating tray at slow speed. A pivoting stick disturbs the text and fluidifies the words into flowerlike forms, which are unreadable. The work evokes the creation of a fleeting cultural order that quickly reverts to a natural state of chaos.
