Ghost in the Sellotape
KATAOKA Junya [Japan]
This work reveals the organic images hidden in a uniformly manufactured roll of adhesive tape. The surface of Sellotape (cellophane tape) contains many air bubbles and irregularities in the adhesive. When magnified and projected through a lens, they resemble craters on a planet. As the tape is gradually wound by a motor, a rotating Sellotape planet comes into view.
