SHIRO Masamune’s manga has already been adapted into a feature-length animated film and TV series, and this, the first episode of four, is the latest animated version. Set in a future society where the advancement of information networks and cyborg technology has made it possible to connect people’s wills by “cyberbrains”, it tells the story of cyborg heroine Motoko Kusanagi and the foundation of Ghost in the Shell, which has the objective of preventing heinous crimes.
