Outline

This historical manga, a sequel to the Innocent series, continues the story of Charles-Henri SANSON, a key gure in the French revolution who became an executioner. The manga re- lates events shaking up the world of power and the interactions of Charles-Henri and his sister, who were known as the “guardians of justice” and the “gods of death,” with King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. This work takes actual people and uses them as a backdrop in depicting people who live with pride despite a cruel fate.
