KEKENOKO KAPPO make “HOKOTEN”

Performance

KEKENOKO (HISATSUNE Ayumi, Representative) [Japan]

Outline

Borrowing from the Takenoko-zoku culture of the 1980s, this performing group created a new kind of zoku (tribal) concept to fit today’s times. Anyone can participate in the twice- monthly Kekenoko performances, and parade through the streets of Harajuku while dancing in eccentric clothes. The age range is from the teens to the 30s. Adding original steps to the hit songs of the 1970s through the present, they have revived Harajuku’s urban culture in a new way.
