On Framing Textile Ambiguities
The work critically explores the history of computer art through one of the oldest techniques of humanity, textile processing. A series of machines share the same thread and components, but find various patterns in the encoding due to differences in the frame widths. The punch card system originating from the Jacquard loom embraces the further development of universal automatized processes including that of a computer, manifesting the technological entanglement of computer science with textile processing.
