A collection of works celebrating the 40th anniversary of MARUO’s career, known for his retro-style violent and grotesque drawings. Its five episodes include the corruption and sadness of a mixed-race orphan boy in chaotic postwar Japan, an encounter of a boy and missionary in Nagasaki and Auschwitz, and a Polish priest in a starvation cell during WWII. People’s anguish in harsh conditions is depicted under the theme of war and faith.
