Outline

Using a camera obscura, a device which has the same structure as the human eye, it is possible to explore unconscious perspectives through ordinary landscapes. The artist placed pieces of plywood coated with light-sensitive emulsion in a room in Shinjuku to create a giant camera obscura and take long-exposure photographs. By replicating the support medium, which functioned as the negative, he then developed a positive image with a computer.
