Somalia94 – The Ilaria Alpi affair

In 1994 Italian reporter Ilaria Alpi and photographer Miran Hrovatin headed for Somalia during the civil war to uncover a secret trade between Somalia and the West: accepting illegal toxic waste in exchange for firearms. But the two were killed in Mogadishu, the Somalian capital. To commemorate them and tell their true story to younger generations, the director hand-drew this animation by entirely himself without any support from public funds.
