The intricate hand-drawn illustrations and animations are inspired by the staging and setdesign of The Magic Flute by the Bregenzer Festspiele in Austria. Live recordings of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and of singers from the Bregenz production provide the source for the sound-design, which plays with and deconstructs MOZART’s original composition. Seven complete arias are accessible as moments of interaction in the graphic novel and re-inforce the connection to the classic.
