Tokyo Air Raids Oral History Map

A visual archive designed for a viewing of Tokyo urban spaces. Visual testimonies by those who experienced the Tokyo air raids are plotted and superimposed over an eight-layer map of the city, each representing a different period. By intuitively navigating through the 3D map-like layers depicting objective historical images as well as subjective historical images of the survivors’ stories, users are able to experience lives of the air raid survivors from multiple perspectives.
