ARAKI Hirohiko

Born in 1960 in Miyazaki Prefecture. His 1980 work Buso Poker (Armed Poker Player) was awarded the second prize in Weekly JUMP's 20th Tezuka Award and Araki made his debut with the same work. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure began to be serialized in 1987. The work has gained enormous popularity since then. An exhibition of its original drawings held in 2012 attracted a total of 130,000 visitors between two venues. The work is also highly regarded abroad, evidenced by the fact that the exhibition was later shown in Italy.
