3D DEKO PROJECT

Application of 3D printing technology to an endangered traditional craft. Wooden human figures used in the Awa Ningyo Joruri Puppet Theater were replicated after detailed interviews with the craftspeople, developing a STEAM education program around their production. 3D printing enables children to touch replicated figures and partially experience the production process, in an attempt to pass on a traditional craft to the digital native generation.
