A quiet desert failure

An ongoing Web project to reconstruct a picture of the entire Sahara Desert on a Tumblr blog. The artist programmed an Internet bot to transfer partial images of the desert from Google Maps every 30 minutes. It will still take approximately 50 years to cover the vast desert, and whether Google or Tumblr will exist then is a mystery. This is a project about Internet content, emptiness, time, storage, memory, oblivion, and ultimately, failure.
