Outline
This animation presents an authentic historical play with a cast of vegetable characters. The main characters, Asataro, Nikichi and Komomo, travel along the Tokaido, and get involved in a human drama in every place they visit. Rokyoku* are a great attraction in the original picture book as well, and are expressively performed here by KUNIMOTO Takeharu, a Rokyoku story-teller.
