Back, Here Below, Formidable [the rebirth of prehistoric creatures]

The aim of this project is the reproduction of extinct animals by reconstructing their vocal tracts. The lungs, vocal cords and other voice-regulating soft tissues of these extinct species no longer exist; only the surrounding bones have been preserved over time. The vocal tracts of existing animals have been analyzed using CT scanning and other technology in consultation with various experts. By redesigning the larynx, vocal cords and windpipes of the extinct animals based on this information, and by pumping in artificial breath with an air compressor, the voices of prehistoric species have been resurrected.
