diver in the dark

Interactive video work in which the participant wields a flashlight (actually an infrared camera) to illuminate the night sea. The imagery becomes visible only where the infrared light strikes it. Since the procedure is based on everyday actions, it requires no explanation and anyone can enjoy it. The work is full of crowd-pleasing gimmicks, such as sea creatures who flee when the light shines on them.
