Hana to oku-tan (The Sweet Wife and the Flower)

Set in a Tokyo blockaded after the destruction of all urban functions, this is a portrayal of a wife eagerly awaiting her husband whose whereabouts are unknown. Enormous flowers suddenly appearing in the city center, accompanied by crustal deformations, caused the devastation. Waiting anxiously, she goes about the daily preparation of dinner, the recipes of which also appear in the story. A rendering of a sweet wife’s daily routine amidst an apocalyptic vision.
