Hundred Scrolls of A Northern City

This is a work by a Taiwanese illustrator and manga artist. Set in Taiwan in 1935, it is a recreation of the time overflowing with nostalgia and surprise. While the visionary Taiwan Exposition was taking place in lively fashion, there was a young girl quietly reading books in the library, and a young boy gazing longingly at aircraft in the sky. Against the detailed historical background full of the romance of Taiwanese society of that era, the creator builds a magical fantasy in what is effectively a picture scroll featuring a multitude of achievements, given a unique flavor by the creator’s superb drawing ability and composition.
