Outline
A project to build a life-sized, movable, 18m-tall Gundam robot, inspired by the Kido-senshi Gandamu (Mobile Suit Gundam) anime (1979-80). Experts across generations and fields gathered to bring together Japanese manufacturing technologies. While staying loyal to the design of Gundam in the anime, the arms and legs were downsized and the frame weight was reduced. After seven years, a life-sized Gundam successfully came to life in December 2020.
