little forest – summer/autumn –

A documentary-style video portraying life in a Tohoku region rural community through the theme of food. Do we eat in order to live, or do we make food in order to eat? Ichiko lives in Komori (“Little Forest”) where she grows rice and makes daily meals from seasonal ingredients, recharging her energy for tomorrow. Filmed entirely on location in Iwate Prefecture over a one-year period, this is the summer and autumn sections from a four-part work covering all the seasons.
