lumiBots

The lumiBots are small and round autonomous robots equipped with a UV LED. They leave a trail of visible phosphorescence as they move across a luminesence mat. With their light sensors, these robots can follow the other robots’ traces and reinforce them, similar to the pheromone trails created by ants. The luminescent tracks left behind by the lumiBots gradually fade away, thus forming a dynamic display of emergent structures which are the results of the interaction between the robots and influences from the surrounding, and are not pre-programmed or predictable.
