My Grandfather was a cherry tree

Based on a book by Italian writer Angela NANETTI, this hand-drawn animation is set in Southern Italy, and tells the story of a man and his five-year-old grandson, Tonino. The grandfather could hear trees breathing, and believed that one couldn’t die if still loved by someone. Before passing away, the grandfather tells the boy that his soul will stay forever in a cherry tree near the house in the village.
