Natsuyasumi no Machi （A Town during Summer Vacation）

A college student, Sou, who goes to a college outside the city, enjoys the summer vacation, the only time when students have far too much youth and time on their hands. He and his friends go to the top of a hill to reserve a space for a fireworks festival and find a fighter plane there, rotting away. They then unexpectedly encounter an old man near the airplane. Based on his story, he was a fighter pilot during World War II, when his comrade in arms was taken away by an UFO with the name “Who Fighter”. He has come from “another world” with the aim of finding this comrade. Despite being puzzled by his impenetrable language and behavior, Sou ends up cooperating with him in the search. When a luminous object called “Who Fighter” appears in front of him, the story suddenly and drastically changes. This work depicts an extraordinary event languidly unfolding in the slowly moving time of a summer vacation.
