Sakura Project, Haruka 2020

A project delivered in the hope of bestowing a new memory for stepping forward, for visitors of Kawamachi Terrace Yuriage, a symbol of the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake. Also streamed online, this fantastical stage featured performances by local residents and professional dancers against a backdrop of water projection mapping, which used motifs of the cenotaph in Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture, and the region’s traditional deer dance.
