Sekigahara-Sansui-zu-Byobu (Folding Screen of Painted Sekigahara Landscapes)

A video installation based on Sekigahara-kassen zu byobu (Battle of Sekigahara Screen) from the early 17th century. The present natural landscape of the former battlefield is overlapped on the screen’s battle scene, and reconstructed as a pixel-animated landscape painting. Six LCD monitors (three-dimensionally installed) and six directional speakers offer a viewing experience with stereoscopic images and sounds.
