Sunny

Hoshinoko Children’s Home is a place where children with complex family circumstances live apart from their parents.　The broken-down car “Sunny,” which has been left in a sun-drenched corner of the home and which is beyond repair, is a place for the children to play, as well as being their classroom. Sei, a shy young boy newly-arrived from Yokohama, was unable to blend in with the other children, but one day, he sits in the driver’s seat of Sunny and grasps the wheel…… The creator, who has depicted various boys with an one and only drawing style and a rich world view, has woven a powerful work interspersed with memories of his own boyhood.
