TENGOKU-DAIMAKYO

In the ruins of a futuristic Japan, Maru and Kiruko travel the world, while living a harsh life. Meanwhile, Tokio, who bears a striking resemblance to Maru, lives within the dystopian safety of walls and learns of a prophecy: someone wearing Tokio’s face will come to the rescue. At times gravely, at times blithely, the work depicts the anxieties, growth, and complex feelings of everyday boys and girls in a speculative, science fiction world.
