The Last Episode

The girl Futako, made from scraps of fireworks, is destined to be blown apart at the fireworks show on August 31. This animated short tells Futako’s story, from her reincarnation until she hits the night sky and explodes, in compressed form. It randomly connects things that happened and all the possibilities that couldn’t happen, projects them onto a character who runs toward death single-mindedly, and expresses life’s brilliance.
