The Spirits of Cairn

The Spirits of Cairn imagines an afterworld where children who have died young may end up. The young protagonist mourns the numer- ous heads resting on the ground in the manner of a child building piles of stones (cairns) on a river bank. This world that people imagine as they mourn their dead differs depending on religion and ethnicity, but in its core, it shares common ancient archetypes.
