With the complete renovation to LED lighting on the Ferris wheel at Kobe Mosaic Garden, the attraction was illuminated with the technology called “silhouette animation,” which highlighted its outline. It was Japan’s first such attempt at this kind of animated presentation utilizing the limited surface area of the attraction available for lighting. Three themes—people, places, and times—have been put together under the concept “typical of Kobe.” Rather than traditional mechanical lighting display, this is a content-based presentation arranged to invoke a sense of both nostalgia and eternity in the viewer.
