Work Up a Sweat: Beat Watch

An interactive work in which movement creates a work of music. A water tank and light are placed overhead, with six speakers arranged so they contact the water surface in the tank. When visitors move through the projected light, sensors in the ceiling react and the sounds of six musical instruments emanate from the speakers. Dancelike movements thus produce music as well as visual effects that add to the dancer’s euphoria.
