The 23rd Japan Media Arts Festival received 3,566 entries from 107 countries and regions in its four divisions: Art, Entertainment, Animation and Manga. In each divisions, Grand Prizes, Excellence Awards, New Face Awards, and the new awards Social Impact Award and U-18 Award were selected. Other than the four divisions, newly created award, Festival Platform Award received 46 entries from 17 countries and regions and selected Award-winning Works. In addition to it, Special Achievement Award selected people who contributed in the Field of Media Arts.
The Exhibition of Award-winning Works will present selected works featuring a wide range of styles, genres and forms of expression, as well as materials documenting the lifetime accomplishments of Special Achievement Award winners. This time, the admission limit will be set, and advance reservation will be required due to the measure against COVID-19. For the people who could not visit the Exhibition, the venue will be recorded with 360 degree camera and distributed on the special site enabling people to experience the world of Japan Media Arts Festival. Furthermore, the artist’s talk is planned to be distributed on the special site.

*Award-winning works will be exhibited in several areas of Miraikan (1st floor: Special Exhibition Gallery, 7th floor).
If you wish to visit these areas, we require reservations through “Online Reservation” for the exhibitions of award-winning works.
Admission is free if you only intend to view the exhibitions of award-winning works.

*To view permanent exhibits at Miraikan (3rd floor, 5th floor, 7th floor Dome Theater, etc.), you must make separate reservations through the official Miraikan website.
