INVASION

There is a large body of logical thought in the theory of cinema regarding apparatus, and much of this theory could equally be applied to photography. Yet in every scene of this short film, as if in rebuttal to this singular theory, we are shown a variety of unknown devices together with explanations of how they move and how they are set up, provided by a male voiceover. It is an ambience not unlike a work of science fiction set in the not-so-distant future, and each of the mysterious devices that appear continuously in the story have presence and a role to play, as if they were characters.
